Support to children and families Children and families have always been a focus of the Community Resources Society. Our child-care programs help young parents continue their education and provide school-aged children with a safe place to go after school. We celebrate pre-schoolers’ triumphs in a fun learning environment and match children with disabilities and their families with the resources they need. Our family support programs teach day-to-day parenting skills and help kids succeed in community life. |

Services for youth Recognizing that it’s not easy being a teen, Community Resources Society helps ease the transition to adult-hood. We assist street youth in adopting safe and healthy lifestyles and help them resolve parent-teen conflicts. Families can access support for parenting and changes in family circumstances. Our child care workers offer youth assistance with learning in partner-ship with the School District. |

Services for people with disabilities People with disabilities come to the Community Resources Society for the programs and services that help them participate as contributing citizens in the life of their community. Whether they need supportive accommodation in a neighbourhood setting, require accessible transportation or want to participate in a day program that provides a sense of belonging, the Society is committed to offering the social, recreational and occupational activities that help people with disabilities lead successful, active lives. |

Building a brighter future
The Community Resources Society has a vision ~ "A strong community with opportunities for all".
Community Resources Society has been making a difference in the lives of community members since 1966. The Making a Difference Foundation was created with a single, clear focus: to ensure the over 6,000 people who participate in the broad range of services the Society delivers can continue to rely on it to help make a brighter future.
The Society is a respected, dynamic part of a strong, healthy community, helping children, youth, families and people with disabilities help themselves by providing high-quality services delivered in a personalized manner by caring professionals.
The Making a Difference Foundation also makes it possible for the Society to respond to emerging needs in our growing communities – to work with people in a way that promotes dignity and independence while building capacity and working toward the common good.
The Society is here when our community members need us. We invite you to help us continue to make a difference.
