Child Care Resource/Referral

Child Care Resource & Referral is funded by the Ministry of Children and Family Development and our goal is to increase the availability of high quality child care in the areas of Penticton, Summerland, Naramata, Kaleden, Okanagan Falls, Oliver, Osoyoos, Keremeos, Cawston, Hedley, Olalla, Princeton and Apex.

Benefits for Parents

  • Referrals to screened caregivers in family child care homes.  Screening includes criminal record checks, letters of reference from doctor, personal references and home assessment
  • Choice of full-time or part-time care
  • Referrals to group child care programs such as group child care centres, preschools, the After School Program, the Hand In Hand Infant/Toddler Program
  • Caregivers with up-to-date child first-aid training
  • Information on selecting and accessing child care facilities
  • Information and referrals to related community resources

  • In partnership with families, child care provides a safe, nurturing, learning environment which meets the developmental needs of each child
  • Quality child care for newborn to 12 years old
  • Opportunities for inclusion of children with support needs
